Gallia Cisalpina is Northern Italy. During republican times Gauls lived there,
who fought many wars with the Romans.
The most famous is the invasion of
Brennus, that included a siege of the Capitol,
which did not succeed thanks to
Manlius and could in the end be repelled by
Camillus with the greatest difficulty.
Two more wars occurred in 367 BC and
329 BC
in the Second Punian war the Gauls chose the side of
Hannibal.
